Chapped lip corner of the mouth
Chapped lip corner of the mouth
When chapped lip corner of the mouth tears occur, it is very painful and irritating. These tears are very hard to heal because of the area of the mouth on which they are found. This area is constantly being open and closed throughout the day for eating, talking, as forms of expression, or through other means like recreation and sleep.
The chapped lip, corner of the mouth tear is not caused by the brutality of another individual but is caused by the weakening of the outer layering of the mouth tissues that form the lips on the face. These tissues are thin at the corner area of the lip and when they are extended too far, chapped lip corner of the mouth tears will typically happen.
As chapped lip, corner of the mouth tears are harder to heal than any other area of the lips, they have a tendency to get infected more than if the surface areas of the lips are chapped but not cracked, peeling, or otherwise damaged. This tendency for infection is caused by food components that may find their way into the wound opening.
The bacteria level of chapped lip corner of the mouth tears is increased with this induction of food into the recesses of the tear. It is compounded by the accumulated saliva that builds up as a natural protective covering, and forms another type of scab over the wound.
When this natural protective covering is stressed, further damage can occur to the initial scab that formed to knit the wound together. This damage starts the repair cycle all over again. Chapped lip corner of the mouth tears should be cleaned many times during the day to give the body a chance to heal the wound more rapidly.
The direction of the tear will have a profound effect on the length of time that the body will need to heal properly. A chapped lip corner of the mouth tear that goes along the natural line of the lips will heal faster than a tear that extends past the lip outline.
This type of tear in the corner lip area is caused by an overextension of the ripped skin during the normal course of a conversation, at the point where the tear damage had originally occurred, but the mouth has been opened, even wider to tear the lip past the original damage point. This type of damage to the lip corner is more painful as well.
