Inside of lips chapped
Inside of lips chapped
It is wonderful to meet people that have marvelous smiles and splendid personalities. Both of these features will be greatly diminished if there is a sore inside of lips chapped from the wind. This sore may have been caused by ill fitting dentures, or simply the repetitive rubbing of the tongue against the surface of the lip.
People tend to do this rubbing of the lip with their tongue when they are deep in thought about something. This also occurs when denture wearers play and manipulate their teeth by rubbing them against the surface of the lip to the point where an abrasion forms. The inside of lips, chapped with this sore area, will calcify over in the fashion of any sore that is found in the mouth. While it is not a scab as we think of one on the outside of the body, this is a soft layered, white surface scab nonetheless.
For the inside of lips, chapped from the exposure to wind for long periods of time, the dryness and damage will not be visible to everyone. The damage to this area of the lips will require time to heal, as applications of ointments and other over-the-counter medications are not suitable for this particular location.
This damage that has occurred to the inside of lip, chapped areas yet unbroken, can be treated with a peroxide rinse to minimize the level of bacteria that is naturally present in the oral cavity of the mouth. This is an affordable solution that will allow the person to use it liberally at many times during the course of the day.
For broken areas of skin inside of lip, chapped areas will tend to be sensitive and swollen at best. This area of the mouth is continually exposed to bacteria through smoking, eating and talking. If the skin surface is broken open, it is a major target for bacteria to take up residence and fester into a painful sore within the mouth cavity. This sore will make the lips swell quite a bit and make the appearance of the person seem unbalanced and foreign to those that know them well.
Over time, the area covering the inside of lip, chapped and dry will revert back to the normal state of lubrication. Through the use of moisturizers and anti-chapping sticks the lips areas should be well protected from further damage to the skin surface.
